[2022/11/16 15:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: alrighty... in the interests of time, and since this is a one-shot "tutorial"... the first alchemist knows nothing, and sends you on your way, the second recognizes the handwriting and directs you to a third alchemists' shop. It's empty - of alchemists, anyway - but full of colourful potions, reagents and bubbling alembics. There's vague cursing coming from the back.

[2022/11/16 15:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: A muttered curse, a bang, and a cruder curse. "Just leave it by the door."
[2022/11/16 15:31] Alicia Frakture: That's... not why we are here.
[2022/11/16 15:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: "If it's about that love philtre, I told you.... she... drinks... the potion!"
[2022/11/16 15:32] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: I inspect the potions and reagents, how dangerous would they be if thrown. "It's actually about alchemical byproducts."
[2022/11/16 15:33] Alicia Frakture: Love philtre?
[2022/11/16 15:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Byproducts? I don't have any, I just dump them down the drain. Unless... you're looking to buy products?"
[2022/11/16 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: A head pokes from a doorway. It's a man of indeterminate age, looking slightly pale from being indoors too much, and with a vacant expression... then again, he spends a lot of time near boiling mercury
[2022/11/16 15:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "it's the drain one we're concerned about, actually. Those doesn't just go away into the ether when you do that."
[2022/11/16 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man strolls out, wiping his hands on his rather grubby apron. "The don't? Just as well, we don't want the ether being polluted. That's why I dump them down the drains."

[2022/11/16 15:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh dear. I suppose that could happen, yes, now you mention it. What have I been developing? The farmers want cheap potions to breed animals and make crops grow. I'm close to success!"

[2022/11/16 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh dear. Not only are the farmers getting angry about the investment in the potions, now they're breeding monster slimes. Think I'll take a walk out of town for a bit - my brother needs help with that magical fuel he's trying to make. Maybe I'll go visit him."

[2022/11/16 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Rude!" the man says, as he scoops various things up. "Now be gone, or I'll summon the city watch."
[2022/11/16 15:42] MansooR RedChilli (mansoor50): /me my good man the lantern!......that watch is by the square waiting for an answer from you
[2022/11/16 15:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: I just -stare- at him for a moment at that comment. (We are in our city watch uniforms, right?)

[2022/11/16 15:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: The alchemist just waves his hands. "Well, nothing illegal about dumping waste in the sewers! It'll wash away, anyway, next big rain."
[2022/11/16 15:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "If it gets too nasty we'll have to tell the lord about it and they'll probably start making laws. Is there some way you could make the waste alchemically neutral before it gets dumped?
[2022/11/16 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man pauses and grumbles. "I guess a few casks of ale or something, as long as there's a bit of alcohol in it."

[2022/11/16 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: (You'll have to trust his alchemical knowledge on this one. Alcohol is in many cleaning products, anyway)

[2022/11/16 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: "An assistant? Nope, just me, and I'm going to go see my brother now after all this."

[2022/11/16 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: After dumping barrels of ale down the drains, and after a good rain, there's less wierd happenings, so that's okay - although there was concern about drunken singing coming from the ground for a day or two after.

[2022/11/16 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: The next story is the start of the campaign; we'll get to actually create the characters we'll be using.
